Cane toads

As Cane Toads approach the Kimberley Region of Western Australia there is an opportunity to prevent them them entering the state due to a unique combination of circumstances that exist at the Victoria River, the Cane Toads current front line.  Cane toads are not bullet proof - they do have weak points in their life history.  The climate and terrain works against them as they move west from the Vic River.  Using their weaknesses, the strenghths of the Kimberley community, on a battlground that works in our favour means we can stop the toads reaching Western Australia and degrading our quality of life.  Cane Toads hve never faced a control program at a large landscape level - nobody can tell if a control program will be successful.  To maintain our quality of life in the East Kimberley, the Kimberley and the state we have to give it a go.
