Cane Toad Forum

Jeff provided a committed financial contribution of a research levy of $8,700 towards the initiation and set-up of the March 2005 Cane Toad Forum. This funding provided the initiative for further funding that enabled the Kununurra Cane Toad Forum to take place. This funding also assisted towards producing a 20 minute DVD overview of the weekend forum. $500 of Jeffs contribution was directed towards Northern Habitats Cane Toad Workshops and their fight to commit Government. |
Lee Scott-Virtue and Dean Goodgame of Kimberley Specialist voluntarily Co-ordinated and organised the Cane Toad Forum held in Kununurra on the 19th and 20th March 2005 . Dean Goodgame has constructed and maintained ( and will continue to do so) the community Cane Toad Website (www.canetoads.com.au) on behalf of Kimberley Specialists. Paul and Julie Milner of Due to the unexpected lowering of the Lake Kununurra Dam levels the sponsored BBQ Boat cruise donated by Paul and Julie for the visiting scientists was not able totake place. In conjunction with The Hoochery, Sike Desert, the venue was the only thing changed, and in true Kimberley style, both the Hoochery and the BBQ Boats proprietors provided the visiting Cane Toad |
Barra Barra Despite Cycone Ingrids unexpected rain and subsequent flooding, Barra Barra Hosts Tina and Chris provided a venue and gourmet pizza's that our visiting scientists ( on their first night in the Kimberley) declared as the most 'unique venue' and 'outstanding pizza's' they had ever experienced.

Despite Cyclone Ingrid, floods and government decisions to lower the dam levels, Spike Desert, in true Kimberley spirit, provided the Hoochery as a venue for the BBQ Boat with little less than a '5 minutes notice'. Spike, Paul and Julie Milner (BBQ Boat) managed to introduce the Cane Toad Forum scientists to a night to remember. |
